RHS Weekly Updates | Sept. 3, 2021
Hello, Ram Fam,
I hope your Ram has had a great week! Remember that students return to school next week on Wednesday. Have a lovely Labor Day weekend!
Reminder to Register for the October 2nd SAT: I got a reminder this week to tell students to register. Go online to the College Board website and then to SAT. It will tell you where the assessment will be given and if there are open seats.
Carpool: I need to send several points to assist with carpool. First of all, parents may only use authorized routes. Dropping students at random places rather than following carpool can create management and safety issues. Secondly, we have been trying to motion drivers to pull down to the stop sign to unload and load. If students are paying attention and begin to move as they see cars pull around, we can load lots of cars at once. It is MUCH more time effective than parents who stop where their students are to pick them up one car at a time. I am pretty sure this is much like the experience you had in elementary and middle school. Please help us help you.
PSAT Information: We will offer the PSAT at RHS on Wednesday. Oct. 13th beginning first thing in the morning in the media center. There is a fee of $18 which should be paid online on our Online School Payments link (under the Parent tab on the homepage). Choose the PSAT Activity. The deadline to register is Sept. 10th.
Senior Portrait Makeups: Seniors who did not take a portrait for the yearbook during the summer will take their portrait on Friday, Sept. 10th, during the school day. Strawbridge is going to give us a Sign-Up Genius. We will share it as soon as we can.
Senior Information Meeting for Students and Parents: If you were not able to attend the online session, we will soon send the link to the recording. I will email it directly to senior parents through SchoolMessenger.
Return to our Regular M-Th Schedule: Starting Monday, we will return to the regular schedule with only Advisory Schedule on Fridays, unless it is otherwise needed.
Parent Portal Issues: For parents who have already set up their Parent Portal but are having trouble with access, here are a couple of tips:
Previous problems accessing student's schedules and grades have been cleared up. please try again.
If you are trying to access your Parent Portal through the App and having difficulty, please try logging on through the school website. If you can use a PC, it works even better. PowerSchool sometimes struggles on Apple products. The App is not supported by PowerSchool and is unreliable at times.
If you do not have a Parent Portal and want one (highly encouraged) please ask for an application by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Needs Assessment for Parents to Complete: Our Student Services department sends needs assessments to students, teachers and parents at the start of the year to determine the types of support they need to provide during the school year. As we all know, the pandemic has made the need for support both greater and different. Your input is invaluable with respect to planning for the year. Please take the time to complete this assessment to help us better know how to serve our students. Thank you!
Picture Days: We will load reminders in the rotating graphics on our website to remind you that
Senior Portrait Makeups - September 10th
10th and 11th Grade Picture Day - September 21st
9th, 10th and 11th Makeups - October 28th
