We are thrilled to welcome a new class of Alston Ridge gators to the 2024 - 2025 school year! Please review the following information as you prepare for your student’s Kindergarten Staggered Entry, Meet the Teacher Visit, and First Day of School.
Alston Ridge Elementary School is a capped school; however, our school continues to register students in most grades to provide families immediate enrollment. School enrollment caps limit the number of students who can attend the school in each grade to ensure that building capacity and class size limits are maintained in high-growth communities. Individual class sizes remain the same or smaller than schools without an enrollment cap. If a student is registered to begin school in a grade that has an enrollment cap, the student may be assigned to attend the overflow school designated by the WCPSS Office of Student Assignment. More information about school capping is available at https://www.wcpss.net/Page/33756 or by calling the school.
To register for the school bus, families must have a student identification number for an eligible student to use the WCPSS Transportation Bus Rider Registration (https://www.wcpss.net/Page/51640). All bus registration is managed by the school district's WCPSS Transportation Department.
Online volunteer registration can be completed through the Volunteers page of the WCPSS website: https://www.wcpss.net/Page/55232. Prospective volunteers will submit to a background check prior to being approved by WCPSS to volunteer. Volunteer clearance may take 2-3 weeks for final approval before a volunteer is eligible.
WCPSS Transportation uses an app for smartphones/devices to allow parents to track their assigned bus on its route. Download "Here Comes the Bus": from the App Store or Google Play. Register at https://bit.ly/2AuW9Sd with School Code 67500 and your child's Student ID. You can watch a video (https://bit.ly/2HNar7g), and view FAQ on the WCPSS Transportation site (https://www.wcpss.net/transportation)
