Longview's mission, collectively with WCPSS, is to provide a relevant and engaging education, and to graduate students who are collaborative, creative, effective communicators, and critical thinkers. We are building a culture of high expectations in an effort to prepare our students to reach their full potential, and lead productive lives in a complex and changing world. At Longview, we strive to turn walls into doors, providing students with every opportunity to succeed.
I am originally from Elizabeth City, NC where I graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Pre-Med. I received my master's degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University. My first teaching experience came in an alternative setting in Chowan County where I taught math and science. I taught middle and high school science in Maryland and Virginia before making Wake County my home. My first administrative position was in 2008 at Wakefield High School’s 9th Grade Center. In 2010, I was granted the opportunity to help open Heritage High School, where I spent eight years as one of the assistant principals.
I am extremely excited to be the new principal of Longview School. I look forward to working with the staff, students, and families, as well as partnering with the Longview community to help “turn walls into doors” for our students!
