10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Magnet School Tour
We are the first and only elementary school with the theme Center for Global Studies and Spanish Immersion being implemented school-wide in WCPSS.
Our dragonflies embark on quests to investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas and take action!
Global Studies: Daily instruction across all content areas is delivered through the lens of cultural awareness and a global mindset. Our students explore the world through UN Sustainable Development Goals, cultural studies and celebrations and hands-on projects.
World Languages: Students have the opportunity to learn a second language as well. All Kindergarten through 5th grade, nonimmersion students, get to select daily Spanish or French instruction.
Spanish Immersion: Students will be able to listen, read, write and speak fluently in Spanish. Daily instruction in literacy, math, science and social studies is provided in Spanish, starting in Kindergarten. The students receive daily English literacy beginning in second grade.
We look forward to taking you on a global quest to see all the amazing things happening at DDMES!
We encourage future dragonflies to attend the tour. Get ready to explore and soar!
