Global education is about developing global competence and global citizens. Our goal at Oberlin Global Studies and Language Immersion Magnet Middle School is to develop perspectives, skills, awareness, and empathy needed to participate in a globally connected world. Oberlin will provide all students with the skills and knowledge needed to become competitive and compassionate world citizens.

Oberlin Magnet Middle School began its magnet program in 2015 with the implementation of Global Studies. In 2018, Oberlin added a Spanish Immersion program and in 2020, a Mandarin Chinese Immersion program. Language Immersion students are from Hodge Road Magnet Elementary School, Jeffreys Grove Magnet Elementary School, and Stough Magnet Elementary school where they began their immersion learning. At Oberlin Magnet Middle School, these language immersion students continue to extensively study their second language and upon leaving Oberlin will attend Broughton Global Studies and Language Immersion/International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Magnet High School.
