  • Spaghetti Dinner

    Wakefield is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, March 1st at 6:00pm in the commons area. Tickets can be purchased from any member of the Girls Soccer team or see Mr. Wolfe for more information.

    Congratulations to art students Sabrina Hurtado, Leah Gooding, Abby Ledet, and Faith Rennells for winning 1st place and 2nd place in a district level art competition and Christine Lauture for her 2nd place win. 1st place moves on to the State level.

  • Triangle Educational Advancement Foundation Scholarship

    The Triangle Educational Advancement Foundation's mission is to promote HS athletics, academic performance, and student character. HS athletics includes athlete, trainer, manager or scorekeeper. Senior student-athletes, you may be eligible for a TEAF $5000 scholarship, and Wakefield HS is able to nominate 2 of our amazing students. Applications are available in Student Services and are due Monday, March 11th. Please see Ms. Ansbacher if you have questions.

  • ACT

    ACT will be administered to juniors on February 20, 2019 starting at 7:30 am. Please be sure to be on time! You will need a photo id and a calculator. Juniors will be completing the pre-registration process on Thursday, 2/14/19 during first block. Listen for your last name alphabet to be called.

    The February Drivers Ed class will begin on Monday, February 25. Students should report to the Media Center at 2:30. Rosters are posted outside Student Services and room 2314. See Mr. Tharrington with any Drivers Ed questions.

    Congratulations to Timon Edelen and Tommy Keech for being named to the 2019 North Carolina High School Athletic Association All State Team for Indoor Track and Field.

  • Congratulations JV Dance Team

    Congratulations to our JV Dance Team on their 2nd place finish at the NCASA Dance Team Championships! They competed against 7 other Varsity teams and showcased their talent and Wolverine spirit! Way to go girls!

  • Congratulations Track and Field Team 

    Congratulations to the Wakefield Track and Field Team on another successful season. The following athletes helped Wakefield finish 11th in the State! Timon Edelen finished 2nd in the Shot Put with a school record toss of 55 feet seven and a half inches. Tommy Keech finished 4th with a height of 13 feet and 6 inches. Tommy also set a school record this season with a vault of 14 feet and one inch. Reggie Barlow finished 6th in the State in the 55m dash with a time of 6.51.

  • Congrats to the Swim Team!

    Congrats to the Swim team for their performance at States yesterday! The following swimmers scored points for Wakefield. AJ Carroll, Taye Brown, Aidan Mabunga, Kyle Maier, Byron Morton and Mathea Myhrvold. Taye Brown medaled for Wakefield in the 100 Freestyle finishing 4th place.

  • Girls State

    Juniors interested in ALA Tar Heel Girls State should contact Ms. Holliday in Student Services for more information. Tar Heel Girls State is a week long summer program opportunity that studies the structure and operation of NC State government. Applications are due by February 11th and scholarships are available.
