  • HOCO LATE NITE Dance

    Don't forget to mark your calendars and end Homeocoming week right with the Hoco Late Nite dance after the Homecoming Game in the Main Gym. Dance will start at 9:30pm and end at Midnight. $5 cash only at the door. Come for music, games, and fun with your friends. Snack and drinks will be available to purchase!

  • Class T-shirts

    Class T-shirts will be on sale Tuesday, October 22 through Thursday, October 24th during all 3 lunches in the commons. T-shirts are $10, cash only. Shirt designs can be seen under Wakefield News to the Left. If you need a size other than S, M, L, or XL, please see Ms. Bentley in Room 3214 with your $10 by Tuesday, October 8th.

  • Senior Make Up Photos

    Senior make up photos will be taken on Wednesday, October 23rd in the small gym. Seniors who were not photographed over the summer will have an appointment time assigned to them. The list of appointment times will be posted in the 200 hallway and in student services later this week. Ladies will need to bring a spaghetti strap shirt and gentlemen will need a plain white t-shirt to wear underneath the tux and drape provided. There will be no sitting fee, and proofs will be mailed home.

  • Cheatham-White Scholarship

    Any senior interested in the Cheatham-White Scholarship Program at North Carolina Central University must be self-nominated or nominated by a school staff member. Nominations for eligible candidates will be accepted until November 15th. See Ms. Ansbacher if you have questions about the process or visit scholars@nccu.edu for more program information.

  • Come see Live Theatre!!

    Our Studio Theatre class is performing CHARLOTTE'S WEB for parents this Thursday night. There are two performances. Once at 630pm and one at 730pm. (we have two casts).   These parent performances are FREE for anyone who wishes to attend! FREE THEATRE right here at Wakefield High School. Yes, you may invite family and friends.   This show is our fall Educational Matinee and is family friendly!!!

  • NCSU ROTC Shadow Day

    NCSU ROTC Shadow Day is being hosted on 11/6/19 from 8:00 -3:00 . This event is a unique opportunity for high school students to see what a day in the life of an Air Force ROTC cadet is like. Whether interested in attending NC State or not, this opportunity will give participants a general idea of what being in AFROTC is like at a prestigious university.   • Park Scholarships

    Wakefield High School can endorse 2 seniors for the North Carolina State University Park Scholarships. Applications are now available in Student Services and are due no later than Thursday, October 10th at 8am.   • NC Hispanic College Fund Scholarship

    The North Carolina Hispanic College Fund is now accepting scholarship applications from Hispanic students on the NCSHP website at www.thencshp.org. Seniors of NC high schools who are of Hispanic/Latino background and who plan to enroll in a either a community college/2 year/or 4yr degree program are eligible. Applicants must also demonstrate a commitment to public service and community development. Deadline is January 15, 2020. See Ms. Ansbacher in Student Services if you have questions.

  • Wake Tech CCP Information Session

    Wake Tech CCP Information Session Dates for Spring 2020 enrollment are now available.
