Grade level teachers will discuss the meaning of that data and ways you can support your child at home with grade-specific strategies, skills, and standards. If you need childcare for younger siblings ages 2-5, RSVP by Friday, September 20th: we will have volunteers available in our Gym from 6:00-7:00. WCPSS Transportation uses an app for smartphones/devices to allow parents to track their assigned bus on its route. Download "Here Comes the Bus": from the App Store or Google Play. WCPSS Before School Care will provide 2019-2020 fee-based early-arrival care for students in Grades K-5 beginning at 7 AM. WCPSS After School Care provides fee-based, end-of-day care for students in Grades 3-5, and the YMCA provides fee-based end-of-day care for students in Grades K-2. In addition to the school's Before School and After School programs, community-based programs offer fee-based afterschool programming for Alston Ridge students. Programs include the Alston Ridge Band, TGA Tennis and Golf, KidzArt and Young Rembrandts Drawing. Information about registration is available on each program's website. All students who participate dismiss directly to the private programs at the end of the school day, and parents are responsible for arranging pick-up and transportation home at the conclusion of program-days.
Online volunteer registration can be completed during school hours at any Wake County Public School building. All returning volunteers must re-register prior to October 31st to ensure that there is no break in eligibility. Prospective volunteers will submit to a background check prior to approval by WCPSS to volunteer. Volunteer clearance may take 2-3 weeks for final approval before a volunteer is eligible.
Interested families can register for the community-based TGA Golf and TGA Tennis programs hosted on the Alston Ridge campus from 4:15 PM-5:15 PM. Practices will begin on August 20th to support students developing their skills in the lifelong sports of golf and tennis. Sessions will run from 8/20-9/24 for Session 1, and 10/1-11/5 for Session 2. All equipment is provided by the program's experienced coaches. Programs are fee-based and occur on Tuesdays. Registration is available at http://www.playtga.com/wakecounty. For Rising Kindergarten families, information about Kindergarten readiness and starting school at Alston Ridge is available in the 2019-2020 Orientation Presentation (click "Read More" below for active link). Registration for the upcoming school year is open for kindergarten and for incoming students who will be in grades 1-5. Please register as soon as possible to be ready for the first day of school in July! Registration for 2019-2020 can be started online through the WCPSS Office of Student Assignment, and completed in-person from 10 AM-2 PM any time that school is in session.

The School Messenger phone message system used by WCPSS is expanding to include text messaging and e-mail. "Opt-In" to text messages when you receive a text. Or, you can simply opt-in to receive text messages by texting YES to the number 67587 now. The expanded service calls multiple phone numbers for all associated parents/guardians. You can choose how you would like to be contacted by using the new SchoolMessenger infoCenter website or infoCenter mobile app for Android and iOS.
