  • Before & After School Care Registration

    WCPSS Before School Care will provide 2019-2020 fee-based early-arrival care for students in Grades K-5 beginning at 7 AM. WCPSS After School Care provides fee-based, end-of-day care for students in Grades 3-5, and the YMCA provides fee-based end-of-day care for students in Grades K-2. For the WCPSS Before School and After School Care programs, the following schedule will be used with available spots filled on a first come - first served basis. June 25th from 4:15-5:15 PM, Tracks 1 & 2. Wednesday, June 26th from 4:15-5:15 PM for Tracks 3 & 4.

  • Kindergarten Staggered Entry

    For all Rising Kindergarten students on Tracks 1, 2, and 3, students will attend only 1 day of school (9:15 AM-3:45 PM) for assessment and orientation during the week of July 8-12 for the purpose of "Staggered Entry." Dates are assigned by last name. Meet the Teacher will be on Friday, July 12th--Track 1 at 12:30 PM, Track 2 at 1:15 PM, Track 3 at 2 PM. The first day of school will be on Monday, July 15th. Track 1: July 9 (Last names beginning with A-J), July 10 (Last names beginning with K-O), July 11 (Last names beginning with P-Z) / Track 2: July 9 (Last names beginning with A-G), July 10 (Last names beginning with H-P), July 11 (Last names beginning with Q-Z) / Track 3: July 9 (Last names beginning with A-K), July 10 (Last names beginning with L-R), July 11 (Last names beginning with S-Z). For all Rising Kindergarten students on Track 4, "Staggered Entry" will be the week of July 29-August 2, with Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 1st at 12:30 PM. The first day of school will be on Friday, August 2nd. July 29 (Last names beginning with A-J), July 30 (Last names beginning with K-P), July 31 (Last names beginning with Q-Z).

  • Kindergarten Registration & Orientation

    For Rising Kindergarten families, information about Kindergarten readiness and starting school at Alston Ridge is available in the 2019-2020 Orientation Presentation (click "Read More" below for active link). Registration for the upcoming school year is open for kindergarten and for incoming students who will be in grades 1-5. Please register as soon as possible to be ready for the first day of school in July! Registration for 2019-2020 can be started online through the WCPSS Office of Student Assignment, and completed in-person from 10 AM-2 PM any time that school is in session.

  • "Meet the Teacher" Events: Grades 1-5

    Class lists for 2019-2020 will be posted at the front doors of the school for students in rising Grades 1-5: Tracks 1, 2, & 3 by 5 PM on Friday, 7/5. There will be an opportunity for students and families to meet their teacher for the 2019-2020 school year during the "Meet the Teacher" events that will be held, by track, on Monday, 7/8 at the following times: Track 1, 9 AM / Track 2, 10 AM / Track 3, 11 AM. Track 4 class lists will post by 5 PM on Thursday, 07/25 with "Meet the Teacher" at 2:30 PM on Friday, 7/26.

Updates will include information on upcoming events, district policies and updates, and the goings on at Alston Ridge.   • Volunteer in our School!

    Online volunteer registration can be completed during school hours at any Wake County Public School building. All returning volunteers must re-register prior to October 31st to ensure that there is no break in eligibility. Prospective volunteers will submit to a background check prior to approval by WCPSS to volunteer. Volunteer clearance may take 2-3 weeks for final approval before a volunteer is eligible.

  • After-School Programs (Community-Based)

    In addition to the school's Before School and After School programs, community-based programs offer fee-based afterschool programming for Alston Ridge students. Programs include the Alston Ridge Band, TGA Tennis and Golf, KidzArt and Young Rembrandts Drawing. Information about registration is available on each program's website. All students who participate dismiss directly to the private programs at the end of the school day, and parents are responsible for arranging pick-up and transportation home at the conclusion of program-days.

  • Here Comes the Bus! The App from WCPSS Transportation

    WCPSS Transportation uses an app for smartphones/devices to allow parents to track their assigned bus on its route. Download "Here Comes the Bus": from the App Store or Google Play.   • School Messenger TXT/Email Messages

    The School Messenger phone message system used by WCPSS is expanding to include text messaging and e-mail. "Opt-In" to text messages when you receive a text. Or, you can simply opt-in to receive text messages by texting YES to the number 67587 now. The expanded service calls multiple phone numbers for all associated parents/guardians. You can choose how you would like to be contacted by using the new SchoolMessenger infoCenter website or infoCenter mobile app for Android and iOS.
