Hello, Rolesville High School families.  This is Mrs. Lassiter calling with weekly updates.

First, I would like to say that I have enjoyed the spirit week festivities and appreciate the efforts that went into planning for daily events, the pep rally, homecoming court and all of the game-time events.  It has been a fun time to be a Ram!

I can’t wait for the dance on Saturday night.  Remember all tickets had to be purchased in advance.  The dance is from 7-10 PM.  Students either need to be picked up or leave at that time to allow us to clean up and then let the old folks with young spirits go home.

Don’t forget that we are administering the PreACT on Wednesday.  Students who are taking the assessment must be here on time and need to stay until the assessment is complete.

Ninth, tenth and eleventh grade students will have school pictures made on Thursday, October 13th.  It is especially important that we have photos of all 10th and 11th graders as these are the pictures that are used to make off-campus lunch permits.

Please keep in mind that we have a check out deadline of 1:50 PM each day.  In order to find students and allow them to check out before carpool rolls, you need to make sure you arrive before 1:50 PM.  Please especially keep this in mind when you are making doctor and dental appointments.

Freshman Academy teachers asked me to remind freshman parents that interims went home today.  They need to be signed and returned to the teachers.

I also want to make parents aware that we regularly tell students over the intercom when recruiters from colleges and the military are planning to visit.  I am not sure this is something they have shared with you.

We have been reminding students that yearbooks are on sale now at $65.  This price is good until October 16th.  Make sure you reserve a copy now, since prices will go up throughout the year.

The Rolesville Athletic Club is sponsoring the Rams Scare Run for Saturday, Oct. 29th. It will include a 5K, costume race and family scare walk.  You may either register to participate or make a donation.  Proceeds benefit athletics at RHS.

In case you were not yet aware, WCPSS will open on a two-hour delay on election day, Nov. 8th.

That will do it for this week.  Have a great weekend!
