Do you know someone in our community who is still looking for the opportunity to support our schools?

Our district is once again partnering with the N.C. Education Corps to recruit tutors to serve K-2 students in Title 1 schools in our district. We are currently recruiting talented community members with the passion and time to serve our students.

    What are the minimum requirements?

Applicants should have a GED or high school diploma and experience with working with children, i.e. tutoring, teaching, engaging with youth activities and sports.

Ideal candidates are gap-year college-age students, recent college grads, and retirees. People of all ages with the ability to commit four months are encouraged to apply.

What is the weekly time commitment?

Part-time and full-time positions are available. 29 hours a week is preferred but 10-15 hours a week will be accepted.

What is the timeline for hiring and training?

N.C. Education Corps members will be hired in March to work with our schools in April through July tutoring students.

What are the benefits to serving in this role?

N.C. Education Corps members will receive ongoing training and support. Training will focus on leaderships skills, tutoring, integrating digital technology and diversity, equity and inclusion.  Members also will earn a living wage as compensation for their valuable time.
