Fuquay-Varina Middle holds ribbon cutting to celebrate new building

After a successful start to the 2024-25 school year, Fuquay-Varina Middle held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of their brand-new building off of Bowling Road in Fuquay-Varina.

The 241,930 square foot building, designed by Clark Nexsen Architects and constructed by Skanska, can accommodate up to 1,400 students.

After a performance by the school chorus, Principal Kris Clark, Superintendent Taylor, Board of Education Vice Chair Monika Johnson-Hostler, Wake County Commissioner Don Mial and Fuquay-Varina Mayor Blake Massengill delivered remarks to mark the occasion. 8th grade student Laura Clare Absher then closed out the ceremony with a speech.
