Information regarding contracted transportation

You are receiving this message because your student is eligible to receive contracted transportation services. 

 

As most of you know, many riders of contracted transportation experienced delays last school year due to a driver shortage. This notice is to inform you that we currently are experiencing an even more severe driver shortage that will impact services this school year.

 

In addition to delays, we expect that some riders will not have a driver for their route and will need to provide their own transportation.

 

Two of our contracted transportation service providers have chosen to terminate their contracts just as the traditional calendar school year begins. In addition, our remaining service providers continue to experience a driver shortage. Those companies are actively recruiting drivers and hope to have vacancies filled as quickly as possible.

 

The school board is receiving information about the driver shortage today.

We will make adjustments to accommodate as many riders as possible each day. For riders who do not have a driver for their route, we will be offering a stipend to parents to transport their child to and from school. Those eligible for a stipend will receive information about that opportunity by the middle of next week.

 

Delays still are likely for some riders who do have a driver. As with last school year, we will notify parents in the morning and afternoon if their vehicle is likely to be significantly late.

Información sobre el servicio de transporte de proveedor externo

Haremos ajustes para acomodar a tantos estudiantes pasajeros como sea posible cada día.
