Groundbreaking for the new Bowling Road Elementary

Local leaders turn over dirt at the groundbreaking ceremony

 

WCPSS and Wake County leaders gathered on June 18 to officially mark and celebrate the start of construction of the new Bowling Road Elementary. The Fuquay-Varina elementary school is anticipated to open in 2025. This building will have more than 130,000 square feet of learning space capable of accommodating 800 students and their teachers.

Alongside Superintendent Robert Taylor in the groundbreaking ceremony were Board of Education Vice-Chair Monika Johnson-Hostler, Wake County Commissioner Matt Calabria, Fuquay-Varina Mayor Pro Tem Marilyn Gardner, WCPSS Facilities staff and members of the design and construction teams from Skinner Farlow Kirwan Architecture and Barnhill Contracting Company.
