We encourage rising sixth-grade students for the 2021-22 school year to consider joining your middle school band.

 

Benefits of Being in Band

Q: Do I have to know anything about music to be part of the band?

A: No musical knowledge or training is is necessary.

Q: When can I be part of the band?

A: Most schools only offer Beginning Band in sixth grade - now is the best time to be part of the Band. Make Band your 1st elective choice for your 2021-22 sixth-grade class schedule.

Q: How do I get an instrument?

A: Your band director will help you choose your instrument and will help you get all the materials you need.

Q: Can I participate in sports, too?

A: Absolutely! Band students participate in athletics and other  extracurricular activities.
