Construction update for Parkside Middle and Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies

Following is an update regarding the new campus scheduled to house both the new Parkside Middle and the existing Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies in Research Triangle Park in Morrisville. Note that weather and unforeseen conditions may impact the timeframes below.

Parkside Middle 

Due to delays associated with the design effort, the new Parkside Middle School in Morrisville will not open during the 2025-26 school year. This school will now open to students and staff in 2026-27. Parkside Middle does not yet have an approved assignment plan in place.

Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies (WECIB)

WECIB is an existing school currently located on the Wake Technical Community College campus. We currently anticipate that the new building for this school that will be located adjacent to the Wake Tech campus will open for students and staff during the first semester of the 2025-26 school year.
