Apex Friendship Elementary ribbon cutting ceremony
Apex Friendship Elementary held the official ribbon cutting ceremony for its new building on Tuesday, October 18. The event began with a formal presentation. Speakers included WCPSS Superintendent Catty Moore, Principal M. Tanner Gamble, and Apex Mayor Jacques K. Gilbert.
The student chorus performed an original song, 'You're a Shooting Star' written about their school.
"The Friendship community has a long history of being a welcoming community that creates opportunities and bright futures," said Superintendent Catty Moore. "Now, Apex Friendship Elementary will continue that tradition."
This new school has a core capacity of 800 students, housing grades K-5. Collaborative learning spaces on each floor provide options for teachers to encourage teamwork and group learning. Smartboards in all classrooms allow for cutting edge, interactive instruction.
