Middle Creek student wins music award

Middle Creek High senior Christopher Short received the N.C. Young Composers Showcase Award from the N.C. Music Educators Association.

Holly Spring High School's choral group, Colla Voce, under the direction of Jenny Patchett, was selected to showcase his composition, "I Can Feel the Seasons Change," at the NCMEA conference held in Winston-Salem.

Short had the opportunity to go to HSHS one day during class to work with the choir and was overwhelmed with emotion when he heard it performed at the conference. In addition, the HSHS choir performed additional songs for the conference attendees. Short and Colla Voce represented WCPSS beautifully.
