I’m delighted to join the Centennial Staff! This is my 7th year teaching in Wake County. Throughout my career of teaching in Johnston and Wake Counties, I’ve taught traditional elementary, math in a specialized AIG center, traditional middle school,

and math in an alternative middle school. I love math! When I was younger it was because it was predictable and if I simply learned the rules and followed them, I was successful. Now as a math teacher, I love to help my students with discovery and with the idea that a mistake is simply an opportunity to learn. Helping math students develop a positive growth mindset is so rewarding!

I graduated from Appalachian State University where my husband and I met. We enjoy spending time with our adult daughters, extended family and two Newfies. Most of our recreational time is spent back where we met in Boone as we enjoy exploring the mountains and attending ASU football games. Besides spending lots of time outside in NC, I love to travel with my family, and read historical fiction. I look forward to working with each of you in your journey to become skilled mathematicians!
