Dr. Joylynn Miller
My name is Joylynn Miller and I am excited to serve as the school psychologist at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle and Moore Square Magnet Middle School. I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. I attended the University of NC at Greensboro and majored in Psychology and minored in English. I attended graduate school at North Carolina State University, earning my MS and PhD in School Psychology. I completed my internship within the Wake County public school system, splitting my time between Wake Forest Roseville High School and Forest Pines Elementary. I have been with WCPSS since graduation and have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students. I currently serve on the Autism Team and a member of the NC Association of School Psychologists. For fun, I enjoy cooking, reading, attending film festivals, and checking out local live music venues.
School psychologists help students to be successful academically, socially, and behaviorally. We work with teachers, parents, and community agencies to help students overcome barriers to their academic success. I conduct psychoeducational evaluations in order to determine if a student has a learning disability and/or behavior difficulties that may negatively impact their academic performance. I also provide individual counseling, help implement research based interventions, help develop behavior intervention plans, and lead small groups. If you have any questions or concerns about your child please feel free to contact me.
