My name is Joylynn Miller and I am excited to serve as the school psychologist at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle and Moore Square Magnet Middle School. I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. I attended the University of NC at Greensboro and majored in Psychology and minored in English.   I have been with WCPSS since graduation and have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students.  

School psychologists help students to be successful academically, socially, and behaviorally.  We work with teachers, parents, and community agencies to help students overcome barriers to their academic success.  I conduct psychoeducational evaluations in order to determine if a student has a learning disability and/or behavior difficulties that may negatively impact their academic performance.  I also provide individual counseling, help implement research-based interventions, help develop behavior intervention plans, and lead small groups. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new principles of guided meditation and Reiki, enhancing my skills in promoting relaxation and well-being. For fun, I enjoy cooking, reading, attending film festivals, and checking out local live music venues.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please feel free to contact me.
