Welcome to 7th grade!

My name is Mrs. Penland and I’m super excited to start working with you and your family! I am a product of Wake County Schools K-12. This is my 24th year as a WCPSS teacher, but my first year in middle school.  I am thrilled to be your Science teacher!  I have curly,red hair, so you can consider me your own Ms. Frizzle.  I believe that communication and teamwork are the keys to success. That means I want to be your partner in the education process. Everyone is uniquely gifted and I am excited to help you learn more about your talents. We (teacher, parent, student) will work together to make this a successful year.

Hobbies - hiking, reading, movies and spending time with my family ( 2 daughters - Aynsleigh: freshman at Meredith College, Pyper: sophomore at FVHS, Danny: my husband and  Oddie: our dog)
