I am proud to be the 8th grade school counselor at CCMMS this year. It is my first year at Centennial, but I love the students with all my heart. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication and my Master of Education in Counselor Education both from NC State University. Over my 26 years as an Education Professional, I have worked in Higher Education Administration for 10 years and in middle or high school for 16 years. I have served as a College Admission Counselor, a Student Activities Coordinator and an Alumni Program Director at NC State, a middle school counselor, the Dean of Students in High School, and now back to one of the most fulfilling roles of a middle school counselor.
Middle school is a challenging time for students socially and emotionally and they deserve the unconditional love and support of every adult in their lives, so I am happy to be one of them.
My husband, Mike, and I met at NC State so we're unabashedly biased about the Wolfpack education and community. It's fun to have that connection here at Centennial and we are lucky to have such a resource to support our students.
I am fortunate to have two kind, talented children of my own who have both graduated high school. My son has a BFA from SCAD and my daughter attends the University of New Mexico. I have three dogs and two cats - they outnumber the humans!
By far, my favorite things to do are hike and run in the woods, travel, travel specifically to Disney World (all with my family), have coffee with friends and read.
I appreciate so very much everyone that has welcomed me to the Red Wolf family!
