Hey All! I am originally from Clayton, NC. I attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a major in Elementary Education and grew my passion for helping others, building relationships, and giving opportunities for all to grow and prosper. I then began teaching in the Public Schools of Robeson County teaching 6th grade math, and fell in love with growing others' understanding in mathematics. In 2013, I had the opportunity to get my Master's degree from North Carolina State University, Go Pack!, in a specialized cohort that focused on mathematical learning trajectories from kindergarten to eighth grade. This gave me the courage to continue striving to impact not only students' lives in math, but teachers and leaders as well. In 2015, I took a leap and moved to Dallas, Texas to become a math interventionist, Dean of Instruction, and eventually a Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction Specialist for a district with 19 campuses I supported, coached, and deepened understanding in mathematical practices with all stakeholders. Now, back in the beautiful state of North Carolina, I am joining the Pack here at Centennial Middle because of my passion for learning, growing, and being innovative with my practice so that I can transfer this to my students. I am excited to get started and make mathematics flow conceptually with deep thinking and innovative learning strategies. I have a passion for traveling and seeing the world, legos, and my 10 year old Aussie, Squash.
