Hello Centennial Middle School students and families! I look forward to starting my 12th year of teaching with all of you! 

I am originally from Detroit, Michigan and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education (Social Studies) from Eastern Michigan University. After two years of teaching high school and middle school in Detroit, I decided to move across the country to Phoenix, Arizona to continue my teaching career as a middle school ELA and Social Studies teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed my six years in Arizona. It allowed me to follow my passion of helping others in my community, hiking, traveling, and gave me the opportunity to meet my wonderful husband. In 2020, my husband and I moved to North Carolina to be closer to family. We absolutely love it here!

I look forward to being creative this year at Centennial and making Social Studies fun for my students. The best way to learn is through hands-on activities and experiences, and I look forward to bringing that into my classroom this school year.
