Olga Ortega
Hello, Everyone! ¡Hola a todos!
I'm Olga Ortega, originally from the vibrant city of Barcelona, Spain. In 2021, my husband and our two lively kids moved to NC. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Psychology from the University of Universidad Rovira Virgili in Tarragona, a Master’s degree in Marketing and Communication from the University of UOC, and my Early Childhood Education credentials from Wake Tech Community College.
During my university years, I volunteered at the Spanish Red Cross in Institutional Care for Children, where I started my career as a teacher and social worker.
I love partnering with students and their families to help them reach their personal and academic goals. Teaching kids of all ages about my language and culture is an absolute joy.
I pride myself on being organized and a great problem solver. My classes are dynamic and fun, following a communicative approach that makes learning a new language engaging and enjoyable. I believe that language learning not only improves linguistic skills but also fosters empathy and understanding, enriching our community with tolerance and acceptance.
I'm ready to spread the excitement of learning far and wide!
When I'm not teaching or planning lessons, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends in NC and Spain. I also enjoy soccer, traveling, and getting lost in a good book.
I’m thrilled to be a part of the Centennial Middle family this school year and can't wait to meet all of you!
