Pumpkin Carving Project Brings Autumn Excitement to Campus

As autumn leaves begin to fall, students at SRMHS are embracing the season with enthusiasm through their recent Pumpkin Carving Project. This engaging activity not only celebrates the festive spirit of fall but also serves as an educational opportunity for our students to develop essential life skills.

Under the guidance of their teachers, students learned to harness their creativity by designing and carving their own unique pumpkin patterns. This hands-on experience fostered sequencing skills as they meticulously followed their plans to bring their designs to life. The tactile experience of handling pumpkins allowed students to explore different textures and aromas, deepening their connection to the season.

In addition to carving, students practiced observational skills by watching their peers in action, learning techniques and gaining inspiration from one another. The project also emphasizes environmental awareness, as students will germinate the seeds from their pumpkins with the hope of growing them in pots. Ultimately, these seedlings are intended for planting in the SRMHS Garden, furthering the school's commitment to sustainability and hands-on learning.

The Pumpkin Carving Project has not only sparked joy among students but also strengthened their planning and organizational skills, making it a memorable part of this autumn's activities at SRMHS.
