SRMHS is a part of the American Dance Festival Summer Community Outreach Program. Instructors from ADF teach master classes at SRMHS during the Summer. The students attended “The Pulse” in Atlanta GA, spring 2012 and performed in the “The Pulse” showcase Spring 2009. Performance is Sharing the Arts
The Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School has a Dance Lab and a performance group. Dance Lab is designed for students that cannot take a class during the school day and for those who need extra training. Dance Lab students perform in the spring semester. The SRMHS Touring Dance Company is called “E-Motion”. This group is designed to provide a professional performance experience for the students and to share the wonderful world of dance with the community. “E-Motion” performs at all Southeast functions, musicals, festivals, public schools, universities, and community functions. The performances are designed for each audience. The students are serious about their craft and enjoy sharing it with others. The company as well as the entire department conducts a Youth Dance Clinic in the fall and spring to expose younger in the community to dance as positive expression.A.C.T. Theatre seeks to build a program of excellence modeled on professional theatrical practice in order to build people of integrity and intelligence who are artists of courage and compassion.
