Meet Mrs. Yvonne Drew, an exceptional educator whose dedication to her students has earned her a place among the finalists for the WCPSS National Treasures award. As a first-year teacher at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, Mrs. Drew brings with her a wealth of experience, boasting 17 years in the field of education.
What sets Mrs. Drew apart is her genuine connection with her students. Despite any initial resistance, she invests time and effort into building relationships with each and every one of them, inspiring others to do the same. Her bubbly and caring nature creates an inviting atmosphere in her classroom, where laughter and smiles abound.
Beyond her role as a teacher, Mrs. Drew extends her care to the well-being of her students outside of school. She frequently checks in on them, demonstrating her unwavering support and commitment to their success both academically and personally.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Drew wears many hats. She is a devoted wife to Nakia Drew, a loving mother to Ivy and Neo Drew, and a cherished dog mom to Roscoe, her beloved Boston Terrier. In addition to her teaching duties, Mrs. Drew is also an entrepreneur, running a home and event decorating business as well as crafting custom sorority items.
