Leaving WCPSS?


Staff members who are transferring or retiring from the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), and students who are transferring or graduating from a WCPSS school, are encouraged to back up their Google content via Google Takeout. All the instructions you need are available here: Before You Leave WCPSS.


The Google accounts of students not returning to a WCPSS site for the next school year (due to moving out of district or state, transitioning to private or home schooling, or graduating from high school) are deactivated annually on June 30th. To keep any WCPSS Google content, students should follow these instructions before June 30th.


Departing staff and students are encouraged to follow these three steps as explained on the WCPSS website:

  1. Back up your Google Drive
  2. Change ownership of shared Google documents
  3. Migrate your Google Sites (including Digital Portfolios)
