Bus Rider Registration 2024-25 School Year
This portal is only for students who have enrolled for the 2024-25 school year, have a school assignment that provides for neighborhood or express school bus transportation as noted on the student's official student assignment letter and wish to use the service on a regular basis. Español.
New enrollees to WCPSS are required to fill out a Transportation Service Request form when making application at their base school. The School Data Manager will enter the transportation request for new enrollees. See the Student Enrollment page for more information on enrolling.
Transportation-Ineligible and Alternate Stop (requests for before- and after-school care)
For guidance on making an application for bus service, go to Alternate Stop for before- and after-school care stops and Transportation-Ineligible if your student’s school assignment requires parents to provide transportation. Do not complete this form.

Is WCPSS school bus transportation available to your student?
Your student's school assignment determines your transportation type. Transportation information is stated on your student's official school assignment letter and can be viewed via the WCPSS Address Look-up Tool for the 2024-25 school year.
-
Do you need to fill out this form?
This form is provided so that families of enrolled students whose school assignment for the 2024-25 school year provides for either neighborhood or express transportation can request or update bus ridership information.
Families can find up-to-date transportation information in your student’s Home Base/PowerSchool account. Sign up for an account at your student’s school. More information on Home Base is available at Student Information (Home Base).
See the following guidance on whether to fill out this form:
- If your student's school assignment provides for neighborhood or express busing and you would like to request a change in bus service, fill out this form.
- If your student's school assignment provides for neighborhood or express busing and the information is correct, do not complete this form.
- If your student's school assignment for the 2024-25 school year requires parents to provide transportation, do not fill out this form.
- If you have a student who resides in the No Transport Zone for the school he or she will attend for the 2024-25 school year, do not fill out this form.
Remember that school bus transportation is for regular riders. Do not fill out this form if your student will not ride the school bus on a consistent basis. Once bus routes have stabilized, the practice is to remove students from bus rosters if they do not ride the bus for 10 consecutive school days.

What are the cut off dates for families to request Transportation Services to receive first day bus service?
Here are the 2024-25 cut off dates for eligible families (neighborhood or express service as determined by student's school assignment) requesting transportation to ensure service on the first day of school.
- Year-round calendar schools regardless of track assignment must request bus service by May 29, 2024
- Modified calendar schools must request bus service by June 17, 2024
- Traditional calendar schools must request bus service by July 15, 2024
For families who request transportation services after the cutoff date, bus service is not guaranteed for the beginning of the school year. Requests received after these cutoff dates will be processed in the order received. Transportation will make every effort to provide service using existing bus stops as quickly as possible.

How are special needs students served?
Families of children who are in transition, have Individual Education Plans (IEPs), or have plans under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (504) may need to request special transportation, as they move into the community or change address. These families will need to enroll their child in the new school or notify their current school of the address change and inform school staff of their child's IEP, 504 plan or request assistance through the McKinney-Vento Program if the living situation is in transition.

What if we moved and remain transportation eligible at our new address?
Families with students who have previously enrolled and are eligible for transportation may request school bus transportation to their new address. Please do not submit this form until your student's address has been updated by your school in PowerSchool. WCPSS has established cut-off dates to ensure service for the first day of school. Requests received after the applicable cut-off date will be processed in the order received. Transportation will make every effort to provide service to eligible students using existing bus stops as quickly as possible.
