Prom FAQs
-
Q: What do I need to bring to Prom?
A: To get into Prom, you MUST have your embossed, numbered ticket and your photo ID. The same applies for any guest that you may have as well. If you plan to purchase portraits, you need your payment to Lifetouch. (Fliers are available in Room 212 or at the ticket window at lunch if you need to see photo prices.)
Q: What forms of I.D. are accepted?
A: Each person entering Prom must have a valid photo ID. Accepted types include, but are not necessarily limited to, school ID cards, driver's licenses and permits, passports, and even PowerSchool accounts that show your name and photo. This is for your own security, as well as the security of everyone attending Prom. We thank you in advance for having your tickets and ID ready when you enter.
Q: Who may attend Prom?
A: Any SRMHS Junior or Senior may purchase tickets. Any SRMHS underclassman may attend as a guest of the Junior or Senior. Any non-SRMHS student may attend as a guest of the Junior or Senior provided they have been approved (see the Guest Form for more details).
Q: Will there be portraits at Prom?
A: Yes! Lifetouch will be there to take portraits and candid shots throughout the night. Please get a Lifetouch information sheet from the Concession Stand during lunch or from Ms. Miller in 212.
Q: How are Prom King and Queen decided?
A: Seniors will be given a chance to nominate other Seniors for Prom King and Queen. Listen to announcements for details! During the week before Prom, Seniors will vote using a fair voting method determined by a former Discrete Math class.
Q: When are Prom King and Queen announced?
A: 10:30 PM at Prom.
Q: Who chooses the theme?
A: The Junior Class SGA/Prom Committee chooses the theme and plans Prom each year.
Q: Why are tickets so expensive?
A: Believe it or not, we do try to keep costs down! Ticket prices have only risen by $5 in the past eight years. The ticket prices fund all of our bills from prom (facility rental, food, decorations, DJ, security, favors, etc.).
