Students who build a college list with three or more colleges on BigFuture will earn monthly entries for $500 and $40,000 scholarship drawings. The earlier you build your list, the more chances you'll have at winning.

3rd Step: Add 3 or more schools to your list.
Dates and Deadlines
Scholarships for $500 and $40,000 are awarded monthly until February of your senior year. Completing any step enters you in the drawings on the first day of every month. Drawings occur on the first day of every month.

Discover the Possibilities with WRAL Explorer Post 5
Explorer Post 5 provides hands-on experiences in broadcasting and digital media. The program is aimed at providing members with a solid introductory foundation in broadcast journalism and news production while preparing young people for success in media and beyond.
Membership is open to young adults, ages 14 to 20, who have completed the eighth grade.
If you are interested in participating in the program, please complete the application using the link below by Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Applications must be completed to be considered for membership in the program.
WRAL Explorer Post 5 2025-2025 Applications
Important Dates:
- Acceptance notifications into the program will be sent on or before Friday, September 19, 2025.
- An Open House at WRAL Studios will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 7pm at WRAL-TV, 2619 Western Blvd, Raleigh, NC.
*Attendance at the Open House is not required to apply.
- A mandatory Commitment Meeting will be held at WRAL on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 6pm.
- The Post 5 2025-2026 season meetings will be held one Wednesday a month, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, starting on October 15, 2025, through May 20, 2026.

The organization will be a student chapter of the national Homebuilders Association group, with our sponsor being the HBA of Raleigh/Wake County.The intent of the group is to provide educational and social opportunities for students and families to strengthen interests and awareness of opportunities within the construction industry.There is no cost to the student — the HBA of Raleigh is covering the membership expenses.October 30 from 2 pm - 5 pm. Wake Technical Community College -AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY Scholarship

Students will train in the brand-new Hendrick Center for Automotive Excellence on Wake Tech’s Scott Northern Wake Campus. This will essentially pay for their entire cost of the program.

The City of Raleigh's Digital Connectors Program provides technology and leadership training for Raleigh youth 9th to 12th grade. By participating as a Digital Connector, you can expand your leadership and technical skills while serving your community!
The upcoming Fall cohort will be active from August 20 to December 12. Program benefits include developing a deeper understanding of the digital divide, building leadership skills and a stipend.
