Ms. Abigail Regan
Hello! My name is Abby Regan, and I’m so excited to be joining the second grade team this year. I recently earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from UNC Chapel Hill, where I also completed my student teaching in a fourth grade classroom in Chapel Hill. Before that, I attended Davidson College and earned my bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies. It was during my time at Davidson— working in a local school and studying educational policy—that I developed a deep passion for teaching and learning.
I come from a family of educators— my mom is a third grade teacher and my dad is a retired principal. I grew up in the classroom in many ways and from a young age, always knew it was what I wanted to do. Those early experiences helped shape my love for education and showed me the impact a caring, dedicated teacher can have. I truly believe that education and books hold incredible power— power to expand minds, open hearts, and create opportunities for every child.
Outside of school, I love reading, spending time with friends and family, walking my dogs, and creating art. I’m thrilled to begin my teaching journey and can’t wait to learn and grow alongside my students this year!
Why I love our magnet theme...
I believe that connecting with the natural world is not only essential for student well-being, but also opens the door for curiosity, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of the world around us. I look forward to using the environment as a meaningful, hands-on teaching tool that inspires students to ask big questions, think critically, and develop a lasting sense of care and responsibility for the planet.
