Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Gina Muhs
My name is Gina Muhs, and I am proud to teach Environmental Inquiry here at MECME. I grew up on Long Island, New York, and earned both my undergraduate and graduate teaching degrees from SUNY Oneonta. I hold certifications in Early Childhood and Childhood Education as well as Elementary Special Education.
When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me outdoors either swimming at the pool, hiking in the mountains, or simply enjoying nature with a good book in hand. My goal is to share that same love for the environment with our students through meaningful, problem-based learning experiences that spark curiosity and discovery.
Why I love our magnet theme...
I believe students need to have daily hands-on and real world experiences to create memories and learn the skills they will need for the future. I love teaching Environmental Inquiry because it is full of experiments, models, and exploration. It encourages students to ask questions, make predictions, test ideas, and analyze results while making connections to their community.
