Hi, I'm Douglas Jones! Originally from Huntington, NY, but I've been calling Raleigh, NC, home since 2005. I received my BA in Zoology from Connecticut College and my MA in Teaching & Curriculum from Fairfield University.   I've been teaching in Wake County for 20 years, and I've loved every minute of my 23 years in education.

I'm a proud dad of two—my daughter is starting her college journey, and my son is in 11th grade. When I'm not in the classroom, you'll find me running, reading, exploring new places, and checking out local restaurants. I'm thrilled to be here at MECME!

Why I enjoy working with kids...

What I enjoy the most about working with children is being present when they discover something new and/or have that "aha" moment when they begin to make new cognitive connections to their previous experiences and knowledge.
