Ms. Madison Gilbert
Hi! My name is Madison Gilbert, and I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade at Millbrook! I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!). Earlier this year, my fiancé and I moved from Pennsylvania to the Raleigh area, and we’ve loved spending the summer exploring all that North Carolina has to offer. At home, I stay busy with my dog, Fish, and my bearded dragon, Dexter, who always keep life interesting!
I love working with kids because their natural curiosity and excitement to learn inspires me every day. It’s truly rewarding to support their growth, spark their creativity, and help them discover new ideas. Being part of their journey allows me to make a positive difference by encouraging them to build important skills and confidence that will help them become thoughtful and caring members of our community. I’m thrilled to be part of the Millbrook family and can’t wait for all the learning and fun this school year will bring!
Why I love our magnet theme...
I’ve always had a strong love for science and the outdoors, and I’m excited to share that in the classroom by making meaningful connections to the environment in student learning. It’s important for students to understand the environment and their role in taking care of it. By building environmental awareness, we help students have a positive impact by creating a cleaner, healthier, and more welcoming world for all people, animals, and plants!
