I was born in Texas but spent most of my adult life in Michigan. I attended the University of Michigan and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Master's Degree in Educational Studies. I have had the honor and pleasure of teaching students in the General Ed. classroom and Special Ed. all the way from Kindergarten through the college level for over 25 years.

I moved to Raleigh over five years ago to live near my three daughters and four grandchildren.  I enjoy spending time with my family as well as hiking on all the beautiful trails here in North Carolina, swimming, writing, and traveling.
