Bulldogs Got Talent

SRMHS presents the premier of our "Bulldogs Got Talent" student/teacher showcase. Join us for a night of laughter, fun, and family!
Donate $5 and your name will be entered into a raffle to receive prizes ($100 Food Lion Grocery Card* SRMHS Swag, $25 Amazon Gift Card and more)..Donations can be made via: CashApp ($SRMHSPTSA), SRMHS Member Hub or, by purchasing a Student/Parent PTSA membership.:Join us on Friday, April 16th, from 7pm-9pm for the premier showcase of "Bulldogs Got Talent" student/ teacher performances. Prepare for a night of laughter as our hosts, SRMHS students Kwaleik (as Madea) and Bryson, take us on a cinematic experience, introducing us to upcoming acts, and showing us their talents live and in person. Seating is limited, and is on a first come first serve basis. Although there is no cost for this event, PTSA is requesting a $5 donation which goes to supporting events such as this and other grants and opportunities which go right back to SRMHS faculty and staff, students and families.

Living out the legacy of Dr. King with
2 days of service, education and community
Location: Southeast Raleigh Family YMCA- 1436 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, NC, 27610
Day 1: Saturday, January 18, 2020- Groundwater Presentation for family members 14+, MLK Service project for children ages 6-13. Lunch will be served and childcare available for children 5 and under.
Day 2: Monday, January 20, 2020- MLK Day Service Project for family members 14+ (Children 8-13 must be accompanied by an adult), Music, Prizes, Groundwater debrief.
“Everyone can be great because everybody can serve." Dr. King recognized the power of service and, by observing the Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday through service, you are beginning the year with a commitment to making your community a better place.
Join the Southeast Raleigh YMCA along with local schools and community organizations, for two days of service, education and community, in honor and remembrance of Dr. King with “A community in action: Living out the legacy of Dr. King”
Day 1 of 2 will kick off with an empowering educational session entitled Groundwater. This presentation is designed to help Families (ages 14+) internalize the reality that; we live in a racially structured society, which ultimately leads to racial inequities. Simultaneously, children between the ages of 6-13 will participate in the Brown Bag Ministry service project along where they will decorate brown paper bags for lunches which will be distributed throughout Durham and Wake counties. Rolling Readers will also read stories and engage in activities with children 5 and under.
Note: Brown Bag Ministry is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves the homeless and hungry in the Triangle area of North Carolina.
“A community in Action” continues on, Monday, January 20 (day 2/2) with a day of service and our Groundwater debrief session. Children and Families ages 14+ may participate in an available service project. Following the service project will be the Groundwater debrief, for families who participated in day 1 of 2 of this presentation.
*Individuals who participate in both days will be entered into a raffle to receive a Free 1-year Family Membership to the Southeast Raleigh YMCA. (Limit to a family of 4)
