Percentage of teachers reporting students have perseverance
Students’ ability to keep pushing forward toward their goals when faced with an obstacle is a key to success both in school and beyond. Teaching students to view struggles as part of the learning process that makes them grow - and not as a reason to give up - is a key part of what teachers do every day. WCPSS surveys teachers each year to ask them about whether they think students demonstrate perseverance or grit in the face of obstacles. The data below represent the percentage of teachers in each school who reported that their students “typically push through when faced with a challenge” in 2015-16.
