Principal Screening Interview Process

The Principal Screening Process has multiple steps. See below for information on this process.

Step 1: Initial Submission
- Before the prospective candidate request an application, an endorsement letter of support is recommended. Present this letter during your interview*.
- Send an email to principalscreenings@wcpss.net to request the Online Principal Screening Application.
- Once you receive the application packet, review the instructions carefully and submit back.
- If, after review, your application requires additional information for consideration you will be asked to make modifications to your submission and resubmit after two months - OR -
- Feedback will provided by an Area Superintendent.
*If the prospective candidate is internal, it is highly recommended to discuss the request with your current supervisor.

Step 2: Preparing for the Interview
Once your interview has been scheduled, in preparing for the interview please have the following documents with you:
- Data Presentation: This is a 5-7 minute presentation on the data you will present to the interviewor. A data template will be provided to you via email once your interview has been scheduled.
- 3 References in a sealed envelope
- 1 copy of your most recent evaluation

Step 3: The Interview
The interview consist of the following:
- Data Presentation (5 - 7 minutes)
- Six Questions
- 2 Scenarios

Step 4: Post Interview
Once the interview is completed it will be scored based on a rubric. The prospective candidate may ask an Area Superintendent for feedback including recommendations.
After two years, candidate may resubmit another request for a screening interview.
