Percentage of high school students meeting college-ready benchmarks on ACT

  • Students scoring at or above the ACT’s benchmark criteria in each of the four subject areas - English, Math, Reading, and Science - should have a 50% chance of getting a B or 75% chance of getting a C in a first year college course in that subject area.  See for more information on the ACT’s college ready benchmark scores.  Twenty-nine percent of WCPSS seniors met the benchmarks in all four subject areas in 2015, compared to 28% nationally and 18% in North Carolina.
