Initial Draft of the 2026–27 Enrollment Proposal: Community Input Begins
On Sept. 2, 2025, staff shared the first draft of a new Student Enrollment Proposal with the Board of Education. This plan includes proposed school assignment changes for the 2026–27 school year. Overall, we anticipate that only a small percentage of students will be affected by this proposal. This proposal begins a community conversation. The Board is scheduled to vote on a final plan on Nov. 18. Watch the presentation on YouTube.
Why are changes being proposed?
The proposal helps prepare for the opening of Hilltop Needmore Elementary.
It also includes changes to:
- Base school assignments
- Calendar application options
- Assignments for schools that are overcrowded or underused
These updates are designed to reduce crowding, shorten bus routes, and support student success across the district.
What options are available for families?
The Board is reviewing options that would allow some students to apply to stay at their current school, without district transportation, through a stability transfer. Review the proposed stability rules.
