• Alternative schools and programs

We invest in every student by recognizing their strengths and supporting their personal growth.
Some students benefit from educational and social-emotional opportunities outside a traditional school setting. We offer diverse programs that provide smaller learning environments, positive social connections, and strong academic support.

    Application schools and programs

Three schools provide smaller settings, personalized instruction, and supportive relationships:

    Application process
Staff from your child’s base school, usually a counselor or intervention teacher, will begin the application process. Contact your student’s counselor for more information.

    Special Education schools and programs

One school and two programs serve students eligible for special education services.

    Application process
Students access Longview and Bridges through their Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. Contact your student’s IEP case manager for guidance.

Alternative Learning Programs (ALP) for disciplinary reassignment

Middle and high school students may be reassigned to an ALP instead of long-term suspension.

    Application process
The superintendent may assign a disciplinary reassignment after a serious violation of the WCPSS Code of Student Conduct. Parents cannot request placement in these programs.
