• Safe storage saves lives

Through study of data and conversations with our law enforcement partners, we know that a key strategy in preventing youth violence is for gun owners to practice proper storage that keeps weapons out of the hands of children and students. In keeping with our Core Beliefs and Strategic Priorities, we believe that the best path forward is to provide resources for the WCPSS community to become educated about responsible firearm ownership.

With the direction and support of our Board of Education through their Safe Gun Storage resolution, we have created a collection effective resources that provide actionable steps gun owners can take to increase the security of their firearms and prevent gun violence. These resources have been reviewed and vetted by the WCPSS Security team and many of our local law enforcement partners.
