Hello everyone, my name is Marie Rashleigh, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Bryan Road Elementary family. I was originally born in Racine, Wisconsin, and moved to North Carolina with my family when I was four years old. I grew up around the Raleigh area, attending elementary, middle, and high school in Wake County. I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from UNCW (Go Seahawks!!!!) and recently graduated in May of 2025. My last semester of college was spent in Orlando, Florida, participating in the Disney College Program. For four months, I worked and lived at Disney as a lifeguard. I worked at several different Disney resorts, the main one being Animal Kingdom Lodge. Now I am back in Raleigh, ready to start my teaching career at Bryan Road!

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love spoiling my two dogs, Matilda and Maple. My favorite store to shop at is Amazon. If I am not working, I am normally finding the greatest deals online! Walking/hiking is also one of my favorite pastimes outside of school and teaching. 

One thing you will always find in my classroom is love and support. I believe encouragement is a strong foundation for building lifelong learners. I also want my students and parents to feel welcome in my classroom, so feel free to reach out to me for any questions or issues that might arise during the school year!
