Hello! My name is Cory Merle. I have taught Physical Education for nine years. I am extremely passionate about what I teach and believe that what I do has a tremendous impact on the development of young people both physically and mentally. My passion for athletics started when I was young. I began competing in sports at the early age of five and it has carried on into my adult years. I was a multiple-sport athlete at Fuquay-Varina High School and went on to pursue a career in physical education at Appalachian State University. I believe in practicing what you preach. In my free time when I am not hanging out with my family, I enjoy doing CrossFit.  I have coached multiple sports such as CrossFit (adult and kids), soccer, tennis, and ice hockey. I believe that my athletic background has better prepared me for a world where we must be able to not only adapt to change but be willing to embrace new beginnings.

Outside of school I love spending time with my family.  My wife Tiffany, and my two boys Collin and Caleb keep life fun!

I truly love what I do and value every relationship that I am able to form with students and staff. I am so excited to be at Bryan Road and can't wait to see what next year has in store!
