Hello Bryan Road Families! My name is Jasmin DiRusso and I am so excited to be joining the Bryan Road Elementary School team. I recently moved to North Carolina from Massachusetts and am a loyal Boston Sports Fan. I went into marketing right out of college, but after a few years I went back to focus on my true passion and earned my Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts. I was later nominated for Massachusetts Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for the state in 2018. From 2018-2021, in conjunction with teaching, I was also an advisor for the Department of Education (DOE) in Massachusetts in the Teacher's Advisory Cabinet. I assisted in policy writing and teacher reforms. I later joined the InSPIRED Fellowship for the DOE. We worked to educate, recruit, and retain teachers of diverse backgrounds. Education is my passion, to say the least! I truly enjoy learning how to grow as an educator every year. 

 

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have 3 beautiful girls (8,7 and 2), and a loving and kind husband. I love going to the beach and usually spend a week in Martha's Vineyard (an island off of Cape Cod) in the summer. I enjoy reading, hiking, baking.... and exploring new restaurants. 

 

It is truly an honor to find myself at Bryan Road Elementary School and I am looking forward to this new adventure! Thank you so much for having me!
