Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Julie Malcolm

I am a true NC native from the western side of the state. I grew up in Alexander County and earned my first two degrees from UNC Charlotte. I am now in my 28th year as a public educator - 11 years as a high school English teacher, 1 year as the English I content specialist for the English I EOC in the early 2000s, 10 years as a school transformation consultant with the NCDPI, and 6 years with Clinton City Schools as an assistant principal and principal at the elementary and high school levels. Along the way, I earned my MSA from UNC Chapel Hill and my doctorate from High Point University. I am a lifelong learner as I know firsthand the benefits of education.

My husband Jeff and I have been the dream team since 1998. As a native of New Jersey, he has learned how to understand my Southern accent, while I have enjoyed meeting his family in NJ, NY, and PA. We enjoy any opportunity for repeated travel to Washington, DC as well as any other new locations. He is the landscape manager for a retirement community in Morrisville and can hold his own during any educational conversation.

I am excited to continue my educational journey with Bryan Road Elementary School. I see so much potential on the horizon.
