ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Important Message from Dr. Decker

I wanted to let you know about an incident that occurred Dec. 13 at our school.

Two students were involved in a physical altercation outside the cafeteria. Our School Resource Officer intervened and attempted to escort the students inside. One student attempted to flee and the officer subdued and handcuffed the student.

We have heard concerns from some students regarding the officer’s response. We have forwarded these to the School Resource Officer’s supervisors with the Raleigh Police Department. The incident is being thoroughly investigated.

As principal, I am committed to creating a safe environment for students. That includes ensuring that any disciplinary action taken by anyone in our school building is just and appropriate.

Thank you for your support of our school.
