    UPDATE EMERGENCY CONTACT INFO 

    We want to ensure we have the most up-to-date emergency contact information for your student.  Not all contact information transferred over between PowerSchool to Infinite Campus.  Please take a moment and complete this form for non-household emergency contacts for your student.  Thank you in advance! 

     

    Join us virtually for brief information sessions with SHS Intervention Coordinator, Amanda Alvarez. Sessions will be held in both English and Spanish. The first session is September 17th and will give a tutorial of infinite campus and an overview of intervention supports available to students. The English session starts at 8am, the Spanish session begins at 8:30. Use the URL to access the google meet: bit.ly/SpartanChallenge25_26. See you there! 

     

    NO PARKING ON DIXON DRIVE 

    We’ve seen a lot of cars parking along Dixon Drive during dismissalThis is not permittedBeginning the week of September 2, Raleigh Police department will begin ticketing cars that are parked along Dixon in the afternoon, 

     

    PSAT / NMSQT FOR 9-11TH (OPTIONAL) 

    Sanderson is administering the Pre-SAT / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on October 16This test is optional, and registration is required. The PSAT/NMSQT contains items with Algebra I and some Geometry concepts, so if students have not completed Math I, they may be better served to take it in a future yearWhile all high school students can register to take the PSAT/NMSQT, the district will pay for 11th grade students who are likely to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. The district will pay for the administration of current WCPSS 11th grade students who have a GPA in the top 10% of the district (4.4>). Eleventh grade students with a GPA below the cutoff who want to participate will pay the exam fee Any other students interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT can pay $15.30 to take the assessment.

    Students can also take the official PSAT practice tests and get diagnostic information that can be used to improve future performance. These tests can be found here.

    The PTO’s Annual Spartan Strong Giving Campaign runs the month of September. We are introducing new Giving Levels and opportunities for businesses to partner with the PTO. Help us reach our $35,000 goal!

    INDIVIDUAL STUDENT REPORTS (ISRS) AVAILABLE 

    Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for the reading, math, and science EOC assessments are available in the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus via the app and by logging in through desktop browsers.  Directions for accessing the reports can be found here.  One important note:  Parents will see a note, saying “No assessments available.” ISRs will be accessible by clicking the link located UNDER “North Carolina Individual Score Report.” 

     

    BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR AND SCHOOL HEALTH ASSESSMENT CLINIC SEPT. 13 

    The UNC Mobile Health Clinic will provide no-cost school health assessments and vaccinations, along with other health and community resources, on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Roberts Park, 1300 E. Martin St., Raleigh. There will be food, music and family-friendly activities. Please share this information with your school communities. Attendees should register in advance.  

     

    REGISTER FOR DRIVER EDUCATION AT SANDERSON  

    Jordan Driving School offers the driver education class and behind-the-wheel driving lessons at Sanderson High School. 

    Fall 2025 Registration will open Wednesday, September 10, 2025 10:00 am 

    Students must be at least 14.5 years of age on or before the first day of class to be eligible to register. Registration is open to students on a first come first service basis.

    Event organized by the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals (NCSHP) in partnership with North Carolina Central University (NCCU).

    WCPSS BAG POLICY IN EFFECT AT ALL EVENTS 

    Permitted one clear bag no larger than 12" x 15" x 3". 

    In addition to one clear bag, event attendees may carry:  

    • A small, clear clutch bag/wristlet no larger than 4" x 6" x 1"; 

    • Bags containing medically necessary items for that attendee's assistance (e.g., an oxygen tank); and 

    • Diaper bags.
