    CLASS OF 2026 SENIOR PORTRAITS

    Book your appointment by July 1: We are pleased to announce our partnership with CADY for Senior Portraits. Thank you to those families who have already signed up for their photo session! Students who sign up by July 1 will be entered into a raffle to win a free Senior Session at their studio and a digital package!

    Rising Senior Parents!! Please join us for a Class of 2026 parent meeting on Wednesday, May 21st at 6pm in the Media Center. Ms. Kerley and Ms. Brackfield, Class of 2026 advisors, will join us to talk about Senior Year events and celebrations. Come learn about all the fun and ways you can help! RSVP here!

    2025 SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATION 

    The sign-up for Summer School 2025 goes live on our website June 2.  

    • Credit recovery summer school will begin on July 7th on campus. Courses are delivered through Edgenuity, an online, self-paced platform.
    • There is no traditional direct instruction, but a teacher will be available for support.  
    • Regular daily attendance is expected. Students will be assigned either a morning session (8:00–11:30 AM) or afternoon session (12:00–3:30 PM).
    • Students may only retake up to two credits from previously failed core academic courses (no World Languages, PE, CTE, OCS, ECS, or electives).  
    • Priority seating will be determined by student's grade level and previous attendance/progress in the course originally.
    • Due to budget constraints, the district will not provide bus transportation this summer. Families are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from school.

    CAROLINA FAMILY PRACTICE & SPORTS MEDICINE 2025 SPORTS PHYSICALS 

    It's that time again for our annual sports physical. It will be June 11 from 5-7 at Carolina Family Practice and Sports Medicine. $10 physical and cash/check only.  All proceeds go back to Sanderson. Here is the link to sign up. Physicals are good for 395 days which means if completed on this date, it won't expire until July 10, 2026, so students will be covered the entire school year. 

     

    UNC CHAPEL HILL’S ANNUAL PRE-COLLEGE EXPO   

    The Annual Pre-College Expo will be held on July 10th, 2025, on UNC-Chapel Hill’s campus. This Event is hosted by the Carolina Higher Education Opportunity Programs (CHEOP) Office. The Pre-College Expo will provide students from any high school age Pre-College Access Program an opportunity to collaboratively learn about key topics for college-bound students. Students will participate in Workshops, Panel Discussions, Poster Presentations, a College Fair, and more!

    Enrollment has officially started for the France & Italy summer break of 2026!

    • REQUESTS: Complete the Google form (bit.ly/SHS_Pantry). We can guarantee bags for Friday pick-up if requests are completed by noon on Thursdays.
    • PICK-UP: Bags are available for pick-up on Fridays at the location you choose on the form.
    • DONATIONS: We accept donations of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items. We are also seeking reusable shopping totes.

    STOLE PICK UP MAY 29TH AND MAY 30TH DURING BOTH LUNCHES AND AFTERSCHOOL.  ALL FINES AND FEES MUST BE CLEARED PRIOR. 

     

    SCHOLARSHIP & AWARD REPORTING – ACTION NEEDED! 

    Due May 23, 2025 - We will recognize scholarship and award recipients at the Senior Assembly on June 4, 2025. 

    1. Complete the Scholarship & Award Reporting form (Students must be signed in to WakeID to complete the form) 

      1. List any scholarships/awards you have been offered even if you are not accepting the award 

    1. Email copies of your award letters to Ms. Hitt at GHitt@wcpss.net in Student Services. 

      1. Contact Ms. Martz with any other questions 

    List any scholarships/awards you have been offered even if you are not accepting the award (i.e. you are going to NCSU, but you received a scholarship from ECU, etc.).

    Add as many scholarships to this form as needed.  If you need to add more than 10, please submit a new, additional, Google Form. 

     

    SENIOR FEES ARE NOW PAST DUE! 

    All seniors are assessed a $30 fee to cover various costs associated with graduation (diploma cover, stoles, etc.) Seniors must clear all fines/fees prior to receiving a stole or graduation tickets.  JUNE Graduates due Apr. 30 

     

    SENIOR BOOSTER TICKET SWAP 

    If you are looking for additional graduation tickets or have extra to give away, visit the Class of 2025 Senior Booster Ticket Swap Link.  As a reminder, do not contact the school for extra tickets.  This swap is not organized or maintained by the school. 

     

    CAP AND GOWN LATE ORDERS

    Jostens has resumed online orders for cap and gown packages. Here is the link to the main ordering site for SHS and the link to the standard cap/gown/tassel package. 

    If your student only needs to purchase a tassel, please have them contact Ms. Pendergraft to purchase at Sanderson. Tassels are $14 payment is via Venmo only. 

     

    **NEW** ATTENTION ROOT ES ALUMS 

    Root Elementary will be having a clap-out for Root graduating seniors on May 22nd at 3:00pm. They will need to check in at the front office at 2:45pm.  Bring your cap and gown. 

     

    **NEW** ATTENTION DURANT ROAD ES ALUMS 

    Did you attend Durant Road Elementary School?  As you prepare to take your next big step, we are excited to invite you to join us for a Senior Walk through the halls of your former elementary school. Come dressed in your cap and gown as we cheer you on, celebrate your achievements, and inspire our current students with your success.  This event will be June 4 at 2pm.  Please RSVP here.

    Joyner Elementary is hosting their annual “Senior Clap Out” where they invite all former students to return to where it all began.  This event will be on Monday, June 9th at 2pm. Please RSVP here

    Douglas Elementary is hosting their annual "Dragon Victory Lap" where they invite all former Dragons to return to where it all began.  From the first steps to the final flight!  This event will be on Friday, June 6th from 2:30-3:15. Please RSVP here

     

    ATTENTION YORK ES ALUMS 

    York Elementary is hosting their second annual "YES Senior Saunter" where graduating Seniors get to come to campus, wear their cap and gown, and walk the halls of the elementary school where they got their start.
