Greetings Stough Families!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! As we move into the second week of March, we’ll continue to recognize Women’s History Month, a time to honor the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. Throughout the month, our students will have opportunities to learn about trailblazing women who have made an impact in fields such as science, literature, politics, the arts, and beyond.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by exploring books, stories, and discussions that celebrate the role of women in shaping history and the world around us.
Today also marks the start of Daylight Savings Time, so we’ve all sprung our clocks forward an hour! While it may take a little time to adjust, we’re looking forward to the longer daylight hours ahead.
A huge shoutout to our students for their attentiveness and cooperation during both the shelter-in-place due to the severe weather last Wednesday and the statewide tornado drill on Friday. Safety drills are essential in ensuring that everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency. We appreciate the way our students and staff took both events seriously.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our Read Across America Spirit Week! It was a fun-filled celebration that highlighted the joy and importance of reading. The timing was perfect with our PTA-sponsored Book Fair, which brought excitement and new books into the hands of our students. A special thank you to our PTA, and Mrs. Katie Lee who led this effort, to all of the volunteers who generously gave their time, and the families who joined us for Family Night last Thursday. Your support makes all the difference!
Reminder: This Friday, March 14th, is a snow make-up day for students. Please plan accordingly.
